I was a friend of Richard’s a long time ago… in the 1960’s. He was always quite a kind and caring individual. I lost contact with him when I moved to Colorado to teach.

I met Richard through Chris Hubbard. He was a very kind human and always took care of people. It is nice to know they had a lasting friendship. That seems rare these days.

I was lucky enough to work with Dick at Larue Carter for many years and to be his friend for even longer. He cherished his friends and loved helping people. I will miss him.

I’m sorry I was not in town for the funeral. I will always remember Dick and the love and caring he showed to so many. I remember how he helped Grace Green take care of all her pets. I got one of my cats from Grace many years ago and share with Dick the love of cats. I volunteered to take his cats when he could no longer take care of them and his two cats are now living with me. I believe they are grieving as well as adjusting to my house and the three cats I have. I will always be grateful to Dick for being one of my social work mentors.
